  • 13:00-13:40 “How to use MathLibre and GeoGebra” Hamada, Tatsuyoshi (Fukuoka University / OCAMI)
    • MathLibre is a collection of open source mathematical software. We can boot it from DVD, USB and Harddisk drive. In this talk, we introduce how to boot MathLibre with a virtual machine. And, we will talk about GeoGebra and some other mathematical software packages in MathLibre.
  • 13:50-14:30 “Let me introduce TikZ, kein Zeichenprogramm which attracts me.” Hashimoto, Ryūta(National Institute of Technology, Kagawa College)
    • The manual of TikZ is so thick that you may hesitate to learn to use it. Actually, I did. But one day I suddenly began to use TikZ to make materials for my mathematics classes. What had happened? I would like to talk how TikZ attracts me.
  • 14:40-15:20 “An application of OMR sheets” Nakagawa, Yoshiyuki(Ryukoku University)
    • OMR sheet is not valid to estimate the academic ability in detail, but it’s suitable to evaluate the basic knowledge in short time. In this talk, we show the followings:
      1. How to make the OMR sheet by using LaTeX with AMC package.
      2. How to score automatically by using scanner images of answers.
      3. Considerations when using OMR sheet.
  • 15:40-16:30 “Verification of some homeomorphism constructions using a proof system” Kuga, Ken’ichi (Chiba University)
    • Coq is a proof management system whose achievements include formalization of the four color theorem in graph theory (2004) and Feit-Thompson theorem of finite group theory (2012). When a theorem is formalized by a computer, all the way from the axioms to the final assertion, one may regard that the theorem is fully checked and recorded as a mathematically complete digital data. In this talk we plan to begin with a small tutorial of Coq and demonstrate some simple consequences from the axiom of topological spaces. Then we will talk about our recent formalization of the Baire Category Theorem and that of the Bing Shrinking Criterion based on the former. The latter Criterion provides certain conditions under which one may conclude the existence of homeomorphisms between two spaces. Bing_Shrinking_Criterion
  • 16:40-17:30 “Mathematics and Software for Origami Design” Mitani, Jun(Tsukuba University)
    • Origami, which is the art of making objects by folding a single sheet of paper, has been popular for a wide range of people. However, making intended shapes is not simple, and designing theories under geometrical constraints are required for it. Today, we can make variety of shapes by using design software tools. The presenter will briefly outline the progress of origami design theories, and introduce some software programs. Origami artworks and some applications generated by the power of software will also be introduced in this talk. Web
